Judie Koploy established Slades in 1975 as Southeast Michigan’s quintessential, elegant gift shop. Slades began in two small rooms on the upper floor of the old Slade House in Franklin Village but soon outgrew its space. Koploy moved Slades to one strip mall and then into the Orchard Mall in 2005, where it quickly became known as the mall’s high-end gift shop with something for everyone.
Over the years, Slades has exhibited a knack for finding unique dinnerware, decorative accessories, crystal, china and bridal registry items. Slades sells more than 100 different categories of beautiful gift items at every price point.
“It’s great fun to find such lovely items that make a house a home,” says Koploy. “I am honored to work with my customers toward designing gorgeous rooms and exquisite tables. I know they’ll love these gorgeous pieces and use them as creative cornerstones for the rooms they love to live in.”
